Hialeah is accessible from the 826 Palmetto Highway. The 103rd/49th Street Exit will take you to 49th Street, the major shopping thoroughfare in Hialeah. Hialeah is easily accessible from the Miami International Airport. Taking Lejeune Road north will take you directly into the center of Hialeah. The City of Hialeah is the sixth largest municipality in Florida, serving over 224,000 residents living in approximately 20-square miles. All Hispanics make up 94.7% of the city's population, the second-highest percentage of a Hispanic population in a U.S. city with over 100,000 citizens. Hialeah also has one of the largest Spanish-speaking communities in the country.
49th Street is the major shopping area in Hialeah. Westland Mall, a mall including stores such as Macy's, Victoria's Secret and Guess is located on 49th Street and 17th Avenue. Driving east from the Palmetto exit of Hialeah on 49th Street will expose you to strip malls and major stores such as Marshall's and TJ Maxx. Also, at 37th Street and 17th avenue, there is the Westland Promenade, with major chain stores like Target, Best Buy and Ross.
